MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) - Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats met with Head of Russia’s Republic of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov and outlined promising areas of cooperation with this Russian region, BelTA has learned.
According to the deputy prime minister, the Wests’ sanctions on Belarus and Russia encourages closer cooperation between the two. "We have achieved quite good results. The trade between Belarus and Mordovia is growing. We highly appreciate our bilateral ties, cooperation in the manufacturing sector and other areas of the national economic complex," Leonid Zayats said.
"Belarus can help Mordovia to upgrade its fleet of farm machines. These are combine harvesters, tractors, trailers, etc. We are also ready to supply passenger, freight and utility transport vehicles. We are also considering setting up joint ventures in Mordovia," the deputy prime minister said.
Leonid Zayats noted that Monrovia seeks to replace several thousand elevators by 2025 and that Belarus is willing to offer its services in terms of supply and installation of elevators, further maintenance.
Belarus is also interested in cooperation in the construction sector, science and other areas.
