MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Cooperation between Belarus and Ecuador in the production of air drones has big prospects, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ecuador Igor Poluyan said in an interview with the RTR Belarus TV channel on 26 September, BelTA has learned.
According to Igor Poluyan, Belarus and Ecuador plan joint production of unmanned aircraft. “The scope of activities for air drones is broad here. You see what landscape Ecuador has. It sometimes takes two to three hours of driving to get from Quito to a neighboring city. Therefore, an air drone is a universal platform which can be used to protect the border, monitor road traffic and detect fires. The scope of activities is wide,” said the Ambassador.
In his words, Ecuadorian specialists have tried to create air drones by themselves. However, they still cannot make it properly. “I think cooperation in the area has big prospects. Ecuador has a keen interest in such products,” said Igor Poluyan. However, according to him, before launching such manufacturing it is necessary to make sure that this equipment operates well in Ecuador’s high-altitude areas.
