Polish businessmen ready to help Belarus attract foreign loans

BREST, 21 April (BelTA) – Polish businessmen are ready to help Belarus attract foreign loans, Chairman of the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kazimierz Zdunowski told reporters during the business matchmaking session held as part of the first international forum and expo of business contacts Brest 2016 on 21 April, BelTA has learned.

“Polish entrepreneurs come to Belarus not just to talk about business. They are ready to offer financing for investment projects. In Belarus, there are many well-educated and trained people, but little money and know-how. Polish businessmen can offer both. They have their own and European innovations already tested in the EU. Besides, they can attract foreign loans, which is very important,” Kazimierz Zdunowski noted.

He praised the professional qualities of Belarusian partners. “People here understand business, which is crucial. They come up with specific, feasible projects. I hope that this session will be beneficial for both Belarusian and Polish businessmen,” Kazimierz Zdunowski added.

Poland is one of the largest delegations at the international business forum in Brest. It comprises more than 60 representatives of big companies, commodity exchanges, and government agencies from Warsaw, Lublin, Siedlce, Biala Podlaska, and Hajnowka. Kazimierz Zdunowski noted that many businessmen have come to Belarus with specific proposals and documents.

He believes that power engineering, woodworking, and manufacture of furniture are promising cooperation fields. Ways to strengthen ties in these areas and bolster interregional cooperation will be discussed during the Polish-Belarusian economic forum Good Neighborliness in Gomel on 23 and 24 June.
