PM: Belarusian elevators, utility vehicles will be produced in Azerbaijan

MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) - Belarusian elevators and utility vehicles will be produced in Azerbaijan, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during the talks with Prime Minister Ali Asadov of Azerbaijan in Minsk on 3 October, BelTA has learned.

The governments of the two countries, ministries and departments have been working hard to implement the decisions of the heads of state in the field of development of cooperation. "The analysis shows that we have achieved some positive results. For example, we have completed the development of the technical and economic concept of an agro-town which will be presented to the heads of state during the UN climate conference. During the current visit, we are planning to sign a roadmap for the organization of agricultural production and a contract to develop an urban planning rationale for the construction of an agro-town. Contracts are signed to supply engineering goods and special-purpose vehicles from Belarus to Azerbaijan. An agreement was concluded between MAZ and the Ganja Automobile Plant to manufacture Belarusian utility vehicles. Work is underway to create an assembly plant for Belarusian elevators in Azerbaijan," Roman Golovchenko said.

More products are supplied from Azerbaijan to Belarus to replace imports from unfriendly countries. "Imports from Azerbaijan have gained momentum," the prime minister added.

"It is necessary to intensify joint work in some other areas. We should pay closer attention to a joint veterinary drugs project in Azerbaijan, to the localization of the Belarusian medicines’ production, and the supply of freight cars to Azerbaijan. I have no doubt that by our joint efforts we will see through all the projects agreed by the heads of our states. I am sure that your timely visit will give an additional impetus to this work," he emphasized.
