MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) - Belarus looks to sign a loan agreement with the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) for several hundred million US dollars this year, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the media after the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Yerevan, Armenia on 21 October, BelTA has learned.
“We have agreed to intensify cooperation with the EDB on financing Belarusian projects. There is currently active work with the EDB experts on the structuring of the priority projects. I think we will sign a loan agreement for several hundred million US dollars this year,” Roman Golovchenko said.
According to him, the matter pertains a craft paper production project at Svetlogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill and also projects to make a certain range of medical products, medicines in Belarus, some industrial projects. “There is a list of projects for 2023 and 2024, which we have presented to the bank and which has been preliminary accepted. Now there will be work to structure the deals, to work out business plans,” the prime minister said.
