MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – The construction of the joint venture for making dairy products in Vietnam is supposed to begin at the end of the year, BelTA learned from Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, before the 14th session of the Belarusian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation.
Aleksei Bogdanov said: “We are working hard to set up a joint enterprise in Vietnam, which will process milk powder and whey powder from Belarus using our technologies. It will make eight kinds of dairy products under a Vietnamese brand, including cottage cheese, regular cheese, and yoghurts. Thus, we would like to expand the presence of our producers on the Vietnamese market. A land plot in Vietnam has already been bought, credit resources are being made available. The charter document is supposed to be signed this year to stipulate financial conditions and contributions of the Belarusian and Vietnamese sides to this project. We intend to start construction at the end of the year.”
In 2017 Belarus’ agricultural export to Vietnam totaled $3.2 million, 3.6 times as much as in 2016. “Positive dynamics has been registered this year as well. In January-April 2018 we already earned $1.6 million, 2.6 times as much as in January-April 2017. We sold milk powder, whey powder, and meat products,” said Aleksei Bogdanov.
