According to the press service, Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky, a member of the official Belarusian delegation accompanying the Belarusian president on the working visit to China, met with top management of the Huawei corporation on 13 May. Partaking in the meeting were Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Alexander Shumilin, Head of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone administration Alexander Yaroshenko along with representatives of Belarus’ Economy Ministry, the State Science and Technology Committee and Belarus’ embassy in China. They visited Huawei HQ and its exhibition center.

During the meeting with Huawei Vice President James Chen the sides discussed IT projects currently carried out by the Huawei company in Belarus and the preparation of Huawei’s project in the Great Stone industrial park. The parties considered the proposal to set up ventures in the park to produce accessories and components for Huawei’s complex communication systems and other products. This idea was proposed by Belarus’ Ambassador to China Kirill Rudy to Huawei Vice President Amy Lin during a meeting in January 2017, the press service noted.

Alexander Shumilin expressed his confidence that Huawei will open its next (16^th) R&D center in the Great Stone industrial park. During the negotiations the Belarusian delegation got familiar with the design of the Safe City project.

Vladimir Zinovsky, Alexander Shumilin and the Huawei top managers partook in the opening ceremony of the Seeds for the Future program in Huawei’s exhibition center. The program provides studying opportunities for ten Belarusian students in Beijing in 2017.

Seeds for the Future is Huawei’s global program. It has been successfully implemented in 25 countries, including the UK, France, Italy, Japan, and Singapore. The program has benefited over 1,000 students from 70 universities throughout the world. Seeds for the Future supports development of innovations and helps students acquire new knowledge by means of IT training, grants and internships, practical training programs, and creation of educational laboratories with brand new equipment. In 2015 Huawei launched the Seeds for the Future program in Belarus: in 2015 it trained 11 Belarusian students, in 2016 – 12 students.

The Huawei corporation is ranked 129 in the list of the world's largest companies Fortune Global 500. With 180,000 employees worldwide, the company operates branch offices in over 170 countries. Huawei has set up 15 R&D centers all over the world. In 2014 with Huawei’s participation the company Bel Huawei Technologies became the first resident of the Great Stone industrial park. Bel Huawei Technologies plans to put in place Huawei’s new R&D center.
