Plans to sell Belarusian electric buses to Moscow

Belarusian electric busesMOSCOW, 29 June (BelTA) – Negotiations are in progress on selling the first batch of Belarusian electric buses to Moscow, BelTA learned from Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Alexander Shumilin on 29 June.

The Russian side demonstrates a strong interest in Belarusian electric transport, said the official. “We have already supplied some buses for test runs. Their performance parameters are available. Work is now in progress to sell a batch of electric buses to Moscow. Reaching other regions of Russia is a future possibility,” said Alexander Shumilin.

The low environmental impact of electric transport is its key advantage. “Electric buses do not pollute the environment. They are not tied with wires to their route. A bus takes five to seven minutes to charge at a recharging station and uses electricity as motive power in between stops,” said the official.

Alexander Shumilin also said that the first sample of Belarusian electric cars will be presented by September. Information about Belarusian electric transport is available to visitors of the innovations expo in Moscow. Information about new components used as part of Belarusian electric transport solutions — an accumulator, a supercondenser, a proprietary recharging station — is available as well.

Over 250 R&D products by 84 Belarusian companies and organizations are showcased during the innovations expo.

The Belarusian exposition is divided into 14 clusters: mechanical engineering; space technologies, microelectronics and solar energy; electric transport; the project to create a Belarusian-Russian engine; biotechnologies; cutting-edge R&D; high technologies in healthcare; additive 3D printing and nanoindustry; chemistry and petrochemical industry; information and communication technologies; youth projects; innovations for light industry; and Belarusian books.

Visitors can also get familiar with R&D products made by finalists of the national contest 100 Ideas for Belarus. An exercise glove intended to help people recover after cerebral hemorrhage is among them. The Belarusian exposition puts in the spotlight innovative products, high-tech products as well as Belarusian-Russian joint projects since this year’s forum of regions is focused on vectors of integration development of the regions of Belarus and Russia in the sphere of high technologies, innovations, and information society.

The fourth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is organized by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia. A special expo during the forum is organized by the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
