MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – Tractors made by the Belarusian mechanical engineering company MTZ are now used in high-mountain areas of Peru after the local dealer of the Belarusian company delivered new Belarus brand tractors to the farmers, BelTA learned from the MTZ website.
MTZ tractors operate in Peru at altitudes as high as 5,100m above the sea level. Peruvian farmers from the high-mountain areas praise the quality and reliability of Belarusian vehicles. The farmers did not even have to adjust the fuel system to thin air in the area.
According to the source, Peruvian farmers were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the tractors. Unlike competitors the Belarusian tractors did not even need adjustments of their fuel system. The Belarus 1025.2 tractor model is finely attuned to the most complicated conditions and can work with full power in high-mountain areas.
Roughly 15,000 tractors are in use in Peru. It is a well-developed agrarian country. The main food crops include wheat, corn, rice, barley, potato, and leguminous crops. The local farmers also grow tobacco and peanuts.
According to the MTZ website, the tractors the Belarusian company makes have earned a good reputation in Latin America. MTZ tractors are sold in Cuba, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. An enterprise to assemble MTZ tractors has been set up in Venezuela. This is why the local farmers are confident that Belarusian tractors will be able to easily survive the test of high mountains and hot sun in Peru.
