MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – The National Airport Minsk and its branch Airport Minsk-1 handled about 2.6 million passengers in 2014, up by 18.9% compared to 2013, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Airport Minsk.
In December 2014 alone the passenger traffic via the National Airport Minsk exceeded 165,300 people, up by 17.9% compared December 2013. The airport serviced over 2,800 flights, including more than 2,400 regular flights and about 280 charter flights.
The National Airport Minsk is Belarus’ first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport is home to the national air carrier Belavia as well as cargo carriers Transaviaexport, Rubystar, and Genex.
The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions. In 2013 the National Airport Minsk and its branch Airport Minsk-1 handled over 2.182 million passengers.
