Over 70 Belarusian manufacturers take part in Prodexpo food expo in Moscow

MOSCOW, 9 February (BelTA) - More than 70 manufacturers from Belarus are taking part in the 23rd edition of Prodexpo 2016, the international expo of food, beverages and raw materials in Moscow running from 8 to 12 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

The Belarusian food industry is represented by meat and dairy, bakery, confectionery and alcoholic beverage industries. The list of participants include Spartak confectionary, Babushkina Krynka dairy, Glubokoye Milk-Canning Plant, confectionary factory Slodych, Brest Meat-Processing Plant, Vitebsk Meat-Packing Plant, Bobruisk Meat-Processing Plant, Bereza Meat-Canning Plant, Minsk Bakery, Minsk Kristall producer of alcoholic beverages, Minsk Plant of Soft Drinks, Lidskoye Pivo and Krinitsa breweries.

The Belarusian delegation is led by Alexei Bogdanov, head of the directorate for foreign economic activities at the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, and Alexander Shcherbenok, head of the food directorate at the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

Prodexpo is intended for professionals. The Belarusian participants are set to sign long-term contracts for food deliveries to the Russian market.

Prodexpo is the most prestigious annual food and beverages event in Eastern Europe. For many years it has defined the areas of development of the food industry. Taking part in the 2016 edition are about 2,000 companies from 64 countries. The expo has been organized by the Expotsentr company with the support of the Agriculture Ministry of the Russian Federation under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
