MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – Over 6.3 million tonnes of grain, including oilseeds, have been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 19 August, about 85% of area under crops was cleared in Belarus, including over 82% of area under grain crops and leguminous crops and about 88% of area under rapeseed. Some 6,371,100 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, have been threshed, including 5,439,000 tonnes of grain crops and leguminous crops and 932,000 tonnes of rapeseed.
Meanwhile, flax harvesting is also underway. As of 19 August, flax was pulled from over 95% of area. The flax straw harvest reached some 24,500 tonnes.
Belarusian agricultural workers have also got down to harvesting corn for silage. About 129,000 tonnes of herbage was harvested.
