MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – Over 4.8 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 29 July, 3.77 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and one million tonnes of winter rapeseed were removed from the fields. Harvesting of winter rapeseed has been completed.
The biggest contributors in terms of regions are: Minsk Oblast harvested 1.2 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Brest Oblast -1.12 million tonnes and Grodno Oblast – over 1 million tonnes.
As to other crops, 74.5% of spring barley was harvested, 64.2% of winter rye, 49.2% of wheat, 40% of triticale, 33.4% of legumes, and 40.6% of oats. All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 31,500 hectares, which is 70.4% of the area under this crop.
A total of 3.4 million tonnes of grass fodder have been harvested (34.7% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 12 million tonnes of fertilizers were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 2.14 million tonnes of fertilizers have already been applied.
