MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Over 40 Chinese companies showcase their products at the expo of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region which has opened in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The expo aims to strengthen the ties between Belarusian and Chinese companies and enterprises in such areas as agriculture, food industry, production of consumer goods, mechanical engineering, instrument-making industry, electronic engineering, information technology, mining industry, and construction.
The program of the expo includes business meetings, presentations, and visits to Belarusian enterprises.
The organizers noted that the expo is designed to contribute to the implementation of the program to develop a comprehensive strategic partnership between Belarus and China for 2014-2018, and to advance the implementation of the provisions of directive No. 5 concerning the development of bilateral relations between Belarus and China.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of companies and government agencies of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Minsk, the Belarusian Economy Ministry, and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The expo has been organized by the Department of Commerce of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Administrative Council of the Urumqi Economic Development Zone, and the Office of the Adviser for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus.
