MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) - More than 350 companies from different provinces in China have expressed interest in attending the Belarusian-Chinese international business forum due to be held during the forthcoming visit of China's President Xi Jinping to Belarus, the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA following the talks between Deputy Head of the President Administration Nikolai Snopkov and China’s Vice Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan in the administration of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone.
"Agreement was reached to continue active work on preparation of the forthcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Belarus and the interregional business forum. According to the Ministry of Commerce, more than 350 companies from different provinces in China have shown interest in the forum,” the Economy Ministry said. During the visit of China's President the two heads of state are scheduled to visit the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone.
The meeting focused on the issues relating to the construction of the infrastructure, creation of favorable conditions for attracting residents and investors. According to experts, Belarus should become an important part in the project The Economic Belt Silk Road, with the Great Stone Park being its central platform.
The Economy Ministry informed that during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to China, Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky and Zhong Shan held the fourth meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development of the industrial park in Beijing. The parties adopted several decisions to promote works in such key areas as construction, attracting residents, financing, optimization and strengthening of the configuration of shareholders of the management company.
"The Chinese side has expressed interest in increasing the import of competitive Belarusian products. Consideration is being given to the import from Belarus of machines, agricultural equipment. Large Chinese companies have serious plans to invest in Belarusian economy,” the Economy Ministry said. In addition, Zhong Shan noted the growing interest of Chinese companies in the privatization program of state enterprises in Belarus.
