MOSCOW, 25 July (BelTA) – Acting Mayor of Omsk Sergei Frolov praised the high quality of Belarusian products and said they are in demand in the city at the business forum timed to Minsk Days in Omsk on 25 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Omsk City Administration.
Sergei Frolov remarked that Omsk needs modern heavy-duty equipment and small municipal vehicles. He expressed confidence that the forum and direct negotiations between business companies will open up new opportunities for strengthening economic ties and will give an impetus to cooperation in new areas of business and trade.
The forum’s participants are exploring the trade, economic, industrial, investment, and tourism potential of Minsk and Omsk, and also discussing the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. At the forum Minsk business community is represented by Belarusian Optical and Mechanical Association BelOMO, the Belprofsoyuzkurort health tourism provider, the dealership of the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ in Omsk, the tourist information center Minsk, the Minskkhlebprom bakery, and other companies.
“We highly appreciate our humanitarian contacts and economic ties. Minsk-Omsk trade has been growing despite external challenges. Our economies should complement each other. We should develop our cooperation for the good of our citizens,” Chairman of the Minsk Council of Deputies Vasily Panasyuk noted.
During the forum, top officials of the Minsk Department of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement. Another one was signed between the Minsk Council of Deputies and Omsk City Council.
