MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Omani businessmen show interest in establishing cooperation with Belarusian mechanical engineering companies, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich told reporters on 20 September, BelTA has learned.
“Omani businessmen show interest in the flagship companies of our mechanical engineering industry. First economy class MAZ buses have already been shipped to this country. An agreement has also been reached to supply a batch of Amkodor road-building equipment to Oman. Today the Omani delegation will hold negotiations with BelAZ and several other enterprises,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.
He noted that the businessmen are ready to invest in joint ventures to produce foodstuffs for export to the Eurasian Economic Union and the Persian Gulf countries. “They are eager to invest in real estate, development of projects in Minsk, logistics, tourism. The Omani business circles are ready to invest in our tourism sector and related services,” Vladimir Ulakhovich noted.
The National Library of Belarus is hosting a Belarusian-Omani business forum and a business matchmaking session. The events have been organized under the aegis of the BCCI as part of the visit of a delegation of the business circles of the Sultanate of Oman to Belarus. “We are hosting a delegation of 40 richest and most influential Omani businessmen. The main thing is that they are eager to cooperate with our country,” Vladimir Ulakhovich stressed.
