MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – There is no concurrent view on the price for Russian natural gas for Belarus yet. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov made the statement at a press conference on 9 June, BelTA has learned.
“The matter was discussed [when the presidents of Belarus and Russia met on 8 June]. There is no concurrent view yet. The sides have not been able to come to terms,” said the Ambassador.
“We have yet to talk about it. But we would like our partners to rely on logic. If we sign a contract and we have doubts about the contract — which is happening to the gas contract — and the doubts are not always unjustified, then we have to negotiate ways to adjust the contract while executing the contract,” noted the diplomat. “It is necessary to find logical decisions for resolving these things. I think it is now understood and negotiations will be more successful down the road.”
