MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Nigeria shows interest in Belarusian automotive equipment, Chief Operating Officer of Nigeria’s Dangote Industries Limited Olakunle Alake told the media during his visit to MAZ on 24 August, BelTA has learned.
“We have a great interest in Belarusian producers. We are interested in mining machinery, tractors, and MAZ vehicles. We have already visited four Belarusian plants. We can see that Belarusian equipment is competitive both in terms of price and quality. I have come here with two technical experts to consider its acquisition. We are currently in talks and I hope that there will be concrete agreements by the end of the visit. A big advantage for us is that equipment is produced taking into account the consumer’s needs,” the company’s representative said.
The representatives of Dangote Group visited MAZ, got familiar with its lineup and test drove its vehicles. The delegation from Nigeria also visited MTZ, BelAZ and Amkodor.
MAZ Deputy Commercial Director Sergei Krel noted that the most important task for the company is to diversify exports, including through increasing supplies to Africa. “We consider Nigeria as one of the priority and promising markets. Apart from the supply of machinery, we need to provide quality service support and post-warranty services. We hope the negotiations to be successful,” he said.
