MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Nepal is keen to set up a joint venture in Belarus to make organic products, Ajeya Raj Sumargi Parajuli, Belarus’ Honorary Consul in Kathmandu (Nepal), told BelTA during a visit to the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone.
“Nepal is looking for platforms for agricultural cooperation. There is interest in opening a joint venture to make organic products in Belarus, which could then be exported to other European countries. Some part of raw material will be delivered from Nepal, another part will be produced in Belarus,” Ajeya Raj Sumargi Parajuli remarked.
The last time the honorary consul visited Minsk was in 2012. The city has changed to the better since then, he noted. “I am very impressed,” he said.
The first conference of Belarus’ honorary consuls is running in Belarus from 3 to 6 October. The participants visited the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone and the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ on 4 October.
Today 80 Belarusian honorary consuls represent and protect the rights and interests of Belarus' citizens in 56 countries. Their other tasks are to promote friendly relations and expand political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, scientific, and other ties with foreign states. Consular districts of Belarusian honorary consuls usually comprise industrial and financial centers. Meanwhile, the honorary consuls get well-deserved recognition among politicians and businessmen.
