MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Almost 60% of area planted to grain and leguminous crops has been cleared in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 10 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 1.138 million hectares, which is 59.4% of the designated area. Some 3.853 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 33.8 centners per hectare.
Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 322,700 hectares of land or 98.5% of the targeted area, with 914,400 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 28.3 centners per hectare.
All in all, 4.768 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, were threshed in the country.
Flax was pulled from 34,400 hectares, which is 78.8% of the area under this crop.
