MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – Belarus can develop licensed manufacturing of many of its products in the countries of South Asia, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said in a meeting held on 13 February to discuss the issue of boosting Belarusian exports to Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, BelTA has learned.
“These countries would like to see Belarus as an investor, including as a country that can share its know-how and intellectual potential. We could launch licensed production of many Belarusian goods in the region. It pertains to India in a lesser degree but for the other three states it would be quite an acceptable option,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
According to the Speaker, Belarusian footwear and knitwear producers paid a visit to Bangladesh as all the world’s brands are produced there. “As Bellegprom said, the production of European goods costs $15-20 per item, while the product is then sold per €100,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
