MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – Enterprises of Belarus and Ukraine will have more opportunities for joint projects soon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ukraine Igor Sokol said in an interview with the Ukraine Diplomatic journal, BelTA has learned.
“In the light of the agreement to boost industrial cooperation and to promote the use of tools indicated in the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in industry and science of 29 May 2002, Belarusian and Ukrainian companies will soon have additional opportunities for joint projects,” Igor Sokol noted.
According to him, the bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation has already launched a mechanism for working out joint decisions, including the preparation of lists of goods made in the two countries to be traded in 2017 on preferential terms.
“Belarus and Ukraine have great industrial potential. Therefore, cooperation between the two countries fully meets our national interests. As an example I can cite the cooperation in the agricultural sector. The facilities to assemble MTZ tractors and Gomselmash combine harvesters meet, according to some estimates, about 15% of the needs of Ukraine in new agricultural equipment,” the Ambassador said.
