More Belarusian trucks, tractors assembled in Kazakhstan

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – More and more BelAZ trucks and MTZ tractors are assembled in Kazakhstan. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov released the information during the press conference held on 20 February, BelTA has learned. The press conference was arranged to talk about the address Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev made to discuss the redistribution of authority between branches of the government and the address to the Kazakh nation concerning Kazakhstan’s third modernization in a bid for competitiveness on a global scale.

The diplomat talked about the most successful large projects that Belarus and Kazakhstan are implementing together in Kazakhstan. For instance, a joint venture meant to assemble mining machines and BelAZ trucks assembled five trucks in 2016. The vehicles have been sold already. Orders for another eight BelAZ trucks have been received. “We see that the number and the demand for the vehicles are rising,” said Yergali Bulegenov.

Apart from that, about 500 MTZ tractors were assembled in Kazakhstan in 2016. More will be assembled this year, including improved models.

Yergali Bulegenov also mentioned a joint venture established by the Belarusian agricultural machines manufacturer Gomselmash. The joint venture has made about 500 harvesters. A new harvester to gather in rice is being prepared for production. There are also projects to make Bobruiskagromash vehicles in Kazakhstan.

Yergali Bulegenov said there are good reserves and prospects involving sales of the jointly made products, including modernized ones, to Central Asia. He noted these prospects are related to the development of the Eurasian Economic Union.
