A harmonious combination of cultural traditions, modern color shades, and eco-friendliness will be in trend during the upcoming season. This is why Mogotex’s linen fabrics aroused special interest at the Heimetextil trade fair. Specialists of Frankfurt School of Clothing and Fashion Design praised the high level of quality of the Belarusian textile products. Already in autumn German designers carried out a careful selection of fabrics for their next clothing collection. Mogotex also showcased several samples of products, and seven of them were chosen by the fashion experts. One model from the collection presented at the Heimetextil trade fair was made from Mogilev-made fabrics.
“The Heimetextil trade fair is a unique platform for the global home textile industry. By participating in the expo we not only present our fabrics and potential but also see whether our designers have managed to catch the latest trends and draw the attention of world’s fashion industry. The fact that our fabrics have been included in the collection of trends proves that we are moving in the right direction. Besides, during the fair our specialists had a chance to study the demand, attend different workshops, and draw inspiration for the creation of new collections this year,” Viktor Matiyevich pointed out.
Mogotex’s stand at the trade fair attracted more than 40 potential partners from the UK, Italy, Brazil, the UAE, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Beirut, Pakistan, Turkey, and other countries. For example, the Belarusian company reached an agreement with a Norwegian construction firm to produce a collection of workwear.
“Participation in various international expos also gives us an opportunity to diversify our export. Today Russia is the main importer of our products. Our export to Kazakhstan, Austria, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Serbia, and Mongolia accounts for just some 5 to 8% of the total. We are planning to increase this figure to 20% over the next two years,” Viktor Matiyevich noted.
This year’s edition of the Heimetextil trade fair gathered representatives of more than 68,000 trade organizations. Some 2,759 producers from 70 countries took part in the international event. It traditionally showcased drapery and furnishing fabrics, furniture leather, curtain fabrics, sun-screen textiles and sun blinds, wall coverings, floor coverings, bed linen, bathroom textiles and accessories, table linen, etc.
Mogotex was founded in 1973 to be reincorporated in 2000 as a public joint stock company. It is a major manufacturer of textile products in Belarus and the CIS states.
