CHISINAU, 21 July (BelTA) - Mogilev Oblast is interested in cooperation with Gagauzia autonomy in southern Moldova in the field of seed farming, and also in setting up a joint venture to assemble small tractors, Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah said when commenting on her visit to Belarus as a member of the Moldovan delegation from 16 to 17 July, BelTA has learned.
Irina Vlah stressed that during the visit to Minsk, the Moldovan delegation met with the President of Belarus, the government officials and members of both houses of the Parliament. "We met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko who is well informed about the situation in Gagauzia and the economic and political processes in the autonomy," said Irina Vlah.
The head of the region highlighted the signing of a cooperation agreement with Minsk Oblast and the plan of action with Mogilev Oblast. The documents were signed in the presence of the two presidents. According to Irina Vlah, Mogilev Oblast is interested in cooperation with Gagauzia in the field of seed farming. "Belarusian colleagues are interested in cooperation in the farming of seeds such as seeds of corn, sunflower and lucern. The Governor of Mogilev Oblast also suggested opening a joint venture to assemble small tractors in Gagauzia," Irina Vlah said.
In this context the Governor instructed to prepare a visit of the delegations from Mogilev and Minsk Oblasts to Gagauzia. It is expected that the plan of action to implement the agreement on cooperation with Minsk Oblast will be signed in November 2015 during an investment forum.
