MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) - The new Minsk Mir scheme is one of the largest mixed-use construction projects in the world today, Mr Neb Karich, CEO of Dana Malls Group, a part of Dana Holdings, said in an interview with BelTA.
"We are very proud of our international winning bid for the development of the old Minsk Airport in the centre of Minsk,” Mr Neb Karich said.
The GBA of the Minsk World project is 3,000,000sq m on a plot of 320ha, comprising of 14,000 high-quality residential units, 305,000sq m GLA of Class A office space, within a new international financial district. It is about building a "city within a city", Mr Neb Karich said.
This will be a new international financial district. There will also be conference, event and leisure centers, schools, parks and green spaces, plus a 120,000sq m GLA shopping, entertainment and leisure center, Mr Neb Karich said.
One of the main features will be a beautifully landscaped 50ha park that will act as a venue for music festivals, art festivals, equestrian centre and many of the other outdoor activities that Belarusians love.
The architecture also draws inspiration from many of world-leading capitals. Indeed the business center is similar to Canary Wharf in London, Neb Karich noted.
