MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – The Export League forum will be of interest to exporting companies, be it state-run enterprises or private businesses, Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank Aleksandr Yegorov said, BelTA learned from the National Center for Marketing.

On 14 November Minsk will host the debut edition of the Export League forum for the Belarusian business community. The event is organized by the National Center for Marketing.

Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank Aleksandr Yegorov shared his views on the upcoming event. “The Development Bank and enterprises affiliated with the holding company play an important role in export promotion. Belarus has an export-based economic model. It is obvious that economic growth in our country should be driven by export growth, and export growth should outpace GDP growth,” he noted.

Speaking about financial support instruments offered by the Development Bank, Aleksandr Yegorov highlighted export loans, which are provided under Decree No. 534, as well as factoring transactions, which allows exporting enterprises not to increase their receivables.

According to him, the Export League forum will be of interest to exporting enterprises, both state-run and private. “State-owned enterprises have ownership supervision bodies that help them in some way or another. Private businesses do not have such tools. The forum should explain to a private business that wants to export products how to interact with the state, how the state can help it,” Aleksandr Yegorov said.

“The second group of enterprises that may be interested in the forum are enterprises seeking import substitution, as their products cannot be absorbed by the Belarusian market. The best form of import substitution is export-oriented,” he added.

According to the chairman of the Board of the Development Bank, exporters taking part in the Export League forum will be able to learn about new tools offered by export support institutions. He believes that the outcomes of the forum will help make the legislation concerning exports and import substitution more flexible.
