Minsk to host Belarus-China business forum

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – The Peking Hotel in Minsk will play host to a Belarusian-Chinese interregional business forum on 11 May. Attending the event entitled Accumulating Strength, Intensifying Cooperation will be Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and China President Xi Jinping, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

According to the Economy Ministry of Belarus, partaking in the forum on China’s behalf will be deputy heads of the Heilongjiang, Zhejiang, Hubei, Guangdong, Sichuan, Gansu, Jiangsu provinces, the cities of Beijing and Harbin, on Belarus’ behalf will be heads of several ministries and agencies, oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Hall. Apart from that the forum will gather top managers of a number of big companies, other representatives of the authorities and business. All in all, partaking in the forum will 450 people, including 300 from China.

The forum is organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Economy Ministry of Belarus and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The forum will kick off with the speech of the heads of state and brief greetings from the Economy Minister of Belarus and China’s Minister of Commerce.

The plenary meeting, New Platforms, New Opportunities, will include a presentation of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone project, speeches of the authorities of the Chinese cities and provinces, Belarusian regions.

The plenary meeting will be followed by an agreement signing ceremony.
