Minsk Oblast, Vietnam’s Hung Yen Province intend to develop cooperation in industry, agriculture

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) - Minsk Oblast and Vietnam’s Hung Yen Province intend to develop mutually advantageous cooperation in industry and agriculture. The cooperation was discussed during a meeting between Minsk Oblast Governor Anatoly Isachenko and a delegation of the Vietnamese region, BelTA has learned.

“Minsk Oblast is ready to cooperate with the Vietnamese region in various areas: agriculture, industry, healthcare, and culture. It is important to develop the agreements that have already been reached and fill them with concrete content,” Anatoly Isachenko said. He also assured the Vietnamese guests that Minsk Oblast is ready for dialogue on all matters of cooperation.

Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Mr Do Tien Sy thanked the Minsk Oblast leadership for the cooperation offers. Mr. Dang Ngoc Quynh, First Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that there is a considerable potential for cooperation between Minsk Oblast and the Vietnamese region, especially in industry and agriculture. The Vietnamese side is interested in attracting and using modern Belarusian technologies in these areas to improve productivity.

Joint manufacture of dairy products in Hung Yen Province can become an example of successful cooperation between the regions of the two countries. Olga Gavruk, the head of the foreign economic relations office at the Economy Committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, informed that active negotiations on the project are already underway. The project is being thoroughly explored with the Vietnamese investor. It involves setting up an enterprise to manufacture dairy products from milk powder. “We hope that setting up the enterprise and manufacturing goods under the Belarusian brand will help us find a new niche in the Vietnamese market. The geographical position of Vietnam provides an opportunity to advance other goods to the countries of South-East,” Olga Gavruk.

The delegation from Hung Yen Province will stay in Belarus till 11 August. The guests will meet with the leadership of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Industry Ministry and visit some enterprises in Minsk Oblast, including OAO Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky, Borisov Plant of Medical Preparations, Zdravushka-Milk dairy and others.
