MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast and South Sinai Governorate of Egypt have drafted a cooperation development roadmap, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Egypt.
The embassy said that a delegation from Minsk Oblast paid a working visit to South Sinai from 27 to 29 December at the invitation of Governor Khaled Fouda Sedike.
The program of the visit included talks and roundtable discussions between representatives of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, enterprises of the Belarusian region and the government authorities and businessmen of Egypt’s South Sinai. The parties discussed the prospects for the cooperation in industry, agriculture, water resources management, exploration and exploitation of mineral resources, trade and tourism.
The Egyptian side showed interest in the Belarusian technology for drilling fresh water wells and in Belarus-made vehicles, especially in products of the automobile engineering company BelAZ.
The visit resulted in a joint action program to implement the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in trade, social and cultural matters in 2017-2018 between Minsk Oblast and South Sinai Governorate of Egypt.
