MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Turchin has met with a delegation of China Merchants International Corporation to discuss the supply of products to Hong Kong.
The visit of the Chinese delegation is part of the efforts to ramp up cooperation between Minsk Oblast and corporations from Guangdong Province and Hong Kong. The Minsk Oblast governor traveled to these regions on a working trip earlier.
“The outcomes of the visit to China show that our agreements are being fulfilled. We have already made new plans, especially in dairy and meat industries,” said Aleksandr Turchin.
The list of products supplied to China will be expanded to include dry milk, meat and offal. The issue of supplying or producing sausages is under consideration. Chinese partners praised the high quality of these products. The core area of work of China Merchants International includes the import and export of various product groups.
“Chinese customers like Belarusian products,” said the head of the Chinese delegation. He hopes that these products will be popular not only in China (in particular in Hong Kong), but also in countries of Southeast Asia.
In turn, Minsk Oblast Deputy Governor Denis Kurlenko emphasized that “certain agreements were reached with China on the supply of our meat and dairy products. And representatives of China Merchants International Corporation visited a meat processing plant and a cheese factory in order to study more deeply the supply issues. In addition, during the visit, they showed interest in plant and sugar products, thus the guests will also tour a number of other enterprises.”
