MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - About 200 enterprises and organizations from 9 countries will participate in the international furniture expo Mebel 2016 which will be running in Minsk from 16 to 20 September, BelTA learned from the press service of Bellesbumprom Concern.

Participants from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, Germany, Austria and the Baltic States will present furniture for home, banks, offices recreation and tourism facilities, bars, cafes, restaurants, casinos, and retail outlets. The expo will also feature furniture fittings and accessories, fabrics, glassware, lighting, software and more.

The expo will be arranged at the Indoor Football Center at 20/2 Pobeditelei Avenue. The highlight of the exposition will be on 20 major furniture and woodworking enterprises of Bellesbumprom Concern. Among them will be Pinskdrev Holding Company, Gomeldrev, Molodechnomebel, Slonimmebel, Bobruiskmebel, Gomel Furniture Factory Progress, ZOV-LenEvromebel and others.

Manufacturers of wood boards will have a separate stand. This stand will display the goods made by such modernized woodworking enterprises Ivatsevichdrev, Rechitsadrev, Mostovdrev, FanDOK, Vitebskdrev and several others, which produce a wide range of particleboards and fiberboards used in furniture production. "These companies will showcase the boards and also the furniture made from them. Their stand will highlight the import-substituting products,” the press service noted.

"There will be also many independent companies, without departmental affiliation, including foreign companies. Therefore Bellesbumprom’s companies have scheduled presentations to showcase their new board products with a view to promoting them in the domestic and foreign markets," Bellesbumprom noted. Bellesbumprom is also planning to hold a series of meetings with potential foreign partners to promote mutually advantageous cooperation in the field of woodworking and furniture production.

The business program includes various business seminars and master classes, and two competitions among the manufacturers of furniture for the best furniture company of 2015 and Belarus best furniture 2015.

The furniture expo Mebel is the largest specialized exhibition-fair in the Republic of Belarus. Taking part in it are manufacturers of furniture and accessories, wholesale and retail companies of Belarus, CIS, and other countries.

"The distinctive feature of the current exhibition will be a wide range of lucrative offers from producers. Many will offer unprecedented discounts on their products. Not only wholesale consumers but also retail customers will be able to make good bargains. The organizers are currently considering a single day of big discounts for all visitors of the exhibition,” the press service noted.
