MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No.407 and Kazan Aviation Plant intend to sign a roadmap on making components for Tu-214 aircraft, Head of the Kazan branch of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia Viktor Shchetko told BelTA’s YouTube project After the Fact: Lukashenko’s Decisions.
In his words, cooperation between the companies will be established in furtherance of the agreements the presidents of Belarus and Russia have made in the field of aircraft manufacturing. Kazan Aviation Plant intends to increase the output of Tu-214 aircraft from about five per annum to 70 by 2030. Belarusian enterprises are expected to help make components for Kazan Aviation Plant to use.
BelTA earlier quoted Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi as saying that Belarusian aviation enterprises are busy increasing the portfolio of Russian orders. Final assembly of aircraft in Belarus may be possible in the future.
The ambassador said: “In addition to offering our competences and capabilities we are already actively taking care of all of it.” Belarusian delegations have already been to enterprises and cities in Russia where aviation manufacturing facilities are located. The ambassador went on saying: “Kazan, Ulyanovsk, and our next trip will be a government delegation visit to Irkutsk. After talking in person we would like to work out long-term programs for keeping our two enterprises busy.” Those are Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No.407 and 558 Aircraft Repair Plant (558 ARP) in Baranovichi.
Dmitry Krutoi mentioned that a lot had been accomplished in matters of cooperation in the aircraft manufacturing sector. Models of Russian aircraft have been selected for active work. Russian companies have been invited to consider having about 1,350 parts and components made in Belarus for the MC-21 aircraft. A portfolio of orders for Belarusian enterprises to make over 2,100 parts for various modifications of IL-76 and IL-78 aircraft has been put together. As for the Tu-204 aircraft, about 700 parts have been selected. Belarusian enterprises are ready to substitute the relevant imports and Russian colleagues have essentially certified and checked the relevant enterprises. They authorized manufacturing and deliveries to Russia for final assembly.
