MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Direct air service can be established between the capital cities of Belarus and Moldova, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy during the meeting of Moldova President Igor Dodon with representatives of the Belarusian private sector on 12 July.
According to Mikhail Rusy, today it is possible to get from Minsk to Chisinau by air only via Kiev or Moscow. “We are working to find an air service solution by September,” said the official. It will open up opportunities for the private sector. It will intercept transit traffic and will contribute to tourism development. There are also plans to improve rail service between the two countries.
As far as transportation is concerned, Belarus intends to take part in infrastructure projects in Moldova. “Our road construction companies are taking part in the tender to build a bypass road around Chisinau. I believe we will be able to earn money there, too,” said the deputy prime minister.
Mikhail Rusy was confident that the governments of the two countries will be able to dismantle the barriers interfering with the operation of Belarusian and Moldovan companies now.
