MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – An armored personnel carrier (APC) made by Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT) will be showcased during the 10th international defense technology expo MILEX 2021 for the first time. The expo is scheduled to take place in Minsk on 23-26 June, BelTA learned from Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus after the official delivered a report to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 8 June.
In particular, Dmitry Pantus told Aleksandr Lukashenko about promising R&D projects, which lifecycle is nearing completion. “Today we reported a novelty that will be presented during the MILEX expo for the first time – it is a fully Belarusian APC developed and made by the MZKT,” Dmitry Pantus said.
In his words, active preparations for the expo are in progress. The expo will take place in Minsk Arena. As many as 42 defense industry organizations will present their products as well as 22 organizations from the Russian Federation. A number of pavilions will be occupied by foreign partners. Thirty-one delegations from 15 regions have confirmed they will participate in the expo, Dmitry Pantus said.
As for the products on display, MILEX 2021 will feature over 300 samples of cutting-edge weapons, military hardware, and special hardware of Belarusian make alone. As many as 177 of them will be showcased for the first time. Eighty-eight products are upgraded ones.
From the point of view of the scope, the composition and the level of participants, the infrastructure, MILEX is viewed as one of the largest defense technology expos in Eastern Europe. Since 2001 this large-scale weaponry show has been traditionally attracting attention of leading Belarusian and world manufacturers of military products.
