MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – A Belarusian-Mexican economic forum will take place in the city of Mexico. The relevant agreement was reached during the visit of Oleg Kravchenko, Head of the America Office of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to Mexico on 21-25 June, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
During the visit consultations between the Belarusian and Mexican ministries of foreign affairs took place at the level of heads of territorial divisions. The Mexican delegation was led by Alejandro Negrin, Director General for Europe of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The sides discussed the entire range of matters concerning the bilateral relations, including the development of political, trade, and economic relations and the establishment of cooperation in education, culture, science, and technology.
While in Mexico City Oleg Kravchenko met with Magdalena del Socorro Nunez Monreal, a Mexican MP, head of the Mexico-Belarus friendship group. Oleg Kravchenko also met with members of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Senate of Mexico. The development of bilateral interparliamentary dialogue was discussed during the meetings.
Negotiations were held with top officials of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade and the Chamber of Commerce of Mexico. Presentations of opportunities for trade and economic cooperation with Belarus were held. Possible avenues of business cooperation were discussed, including manufacturing cooperation and investments. An agreement was reached on developing cooperation with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including the establishment of partnership relations.
Oleg Kravchenko also delivered a lecture about Belarus’ foreign policy before students of the Mexican Diplomatic Academy.
