MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) - MAZ is planning up to ship the first batch of equipment to Zimbabwe by the end of 2015, Vitaly Goncharik, Deputy Director General of Minsk Automobile Plant – Management Company of the Belavtomaz Holding Company, said as Zimbabwe Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa visited Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), BelTA has learned.
"The market for Zimbabwe is new and promising for Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark). We have hosted many delegations from this country. First of all they are interested in our trucks and buses. We hope, and there are all the prerequisites, that we will make the first deliveries of our equipment to Zimbabwe before the end of 2015," said Vitaly Goncharik.
According to him, the first batch will be at least 100 units. "Zimbabwe is a country with right-hand steering. Therefore MAZ is designing special vehicles for this country. Their delivery will be followed up by deliveries of spare parts and organization of maintenance. We already have a partner who can provide a comprehensive service and local technical personnel training," said Vitaly Goncharik. He stressed that after the visit the Zimbabwean partners will give MAZ the requirements and MAZ will select the vehicles to supply to that country.
