MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – The contracts on the delivery of MAZ, MTZ and Belshina products to Egypt were signed during the visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Belarus’ Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich to this country, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As part of the visit, Cairo hosted the 3rd session of the Belarus-Egypt joint trade commission. Vladimir Koltovich met with the prime minister, the minster of trade and industry, the governor of Giza (the Arab Republic of Egypt).
After the session the sides signed a protocol to specify promising avenues of bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, industry and agriculture, architecture and construction, sport and tourism, higher education, healthcare, science and technology, a memorandum of understanding on the exchange of trade and economic information between the National Marketing and Pricing Center of the Republic of Belarus and the International Trade Center of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Korchak and Head of the Industrial Development Administration of Egypt Ismail Jaber presided at the 1st session of the Belarusian-Egyptian joint taskforce for the cooperation in the manufacturing sector, after which the sides signed a protocol.
The Belarusian-Egyptian business forum and a business matchmaking session involving representatives of the biggest machine-building enterprises from Belarus took place as well. As part of the business matchmaking session the sides signed contracts on the delivery of Belarusian products of MAZ, MTZ, Belshina to Egypt.
On Egypt’s behalf the events were attended by more than 150 representatives of companies, enterprises and business circles of Egypt. At the business forum Belarus and Egypt displayed their economic capabilities, signed a memorandum of understanding between the Vitebsk Department of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the El Giza Chamber of Commerce.
