MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – The project to set up MAZ joint venture was discussed during a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Rachkov and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Helwan Machinery and Equipment company Mukhtar Faraj, BelTA has learned.

The sided discussed the development of cooperation between the Helwan Machinery and Equipment company and the Belarusian auto makers MAZ and Bobruiskagromash. The Egyptian representative welcomed the successful conclusion of the project to set up the joint venture to produce MAZ vehicles. The trial assembly of concrete mixers based on the MAZ chassis was already carried out, the embassy said.

The venture is projected to produce 500 units of vehicles of the Belarusian manufacturer. The agreements were reached to promote the MAZ products as part of the tenders with a view to boosting sales and increasing the capacity utilization of the joint venture.

The sides decided to continue exploring a similar project to assemble Bobruiskagromash vehicles at the Helwan Machinery and Equipment company.
