MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – There should be no barriers in the interregional industrial cooperation between Belarus and Russia, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko said in an interview to the Belarus One TV channel, BelTA informs.
“We saw capacity crowds at the Second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. We saw substantial talks, including criticism of what hampers the advancement of our cooperation. We will consider every proposal in order to remove even the smallest barriers in the development of the interregional industrial cooperation,” noted Valentina Matviyenko.
In her words, regional cooperation is the foundation of integration associations – the Union State, the Eurasian Economic Union. It is the level where we cooperate, develop our trade and economic relations, implement joint projects. “What comes to the fore is the setting up of joint companies within the Eurasian Economic Union, the implementation of joint big projects, the development of new innovative competitive products. We should not compete with each other but complement our economies, elaborate the common export potential,” she explained.
Valentina Matviyenko is confident that the two countries have been following the right path: “The Eurasian Economic Union will strengthen the economies of its every member and will make us stronger and more competitive in the global world.”
