MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – The Belarus-Russia Union State is showing amazing results as it is advancing towards technological leadership, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko told reporters. On 6 December she visited the H Holding company together with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, BelTA has learned.
“Today, Natalya Ivanovna and I decided to see how the agreements concluded at our forum [the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia] are being implemented, how the Union State programs in this important sphere are running. Indeed, we cooperate in a variety of areas within the framework of the Union State, including in such a sensitive area as high technology. And Horizont Group shows amazing results in advancing towards technological leadership. This is what Belarus and Russia are striving for, and we have all the conditions for this,” Valentina Matviyenko noted.
“Our people are very smart. Our youth is very gifted. We have wonderful scientists and scientific traditions. And today we see how much we have advanced in terms of import substitution. Those samples of electronic products, household appliances show that this enterprise has made tremendous progress,” said the chairwoman of the Federation Council.
“I am glad that Horizont cooperates with a large number of enterprises and companies from many regions of Russia. It is gratifying that the agreements that were signed during the forum have not just been fulfilled, but also overfulfilled,” Valentina Matviyenko emphasized.
“It is also important that the Union State co-finances important areas of our cooperation. Of course, the production of household appliances, electronics, as well as cutting-edge solutions certainly require support, including financial support, from the Union State; this enterprise also receives this kind of support. This is very opportune, as the company benefits from exchanging experience and maintaining interaction. By now Russia and Belarus, the Union State, have already achieved technological leadership across a number of areas. I will not list them. But the number of such areas is expanding thanks to our talented people and our mutually beneficial cooperation.”
