MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Director of the Energy Community (EC) Secretariat Janez Kopac on 23 August, BelTA learnt from the press service of the ministry.
“During the meeting the parties discussed prospects for possible cooperation between Belarus and the EC,” the press service said.
The Energy Community was founded in 2005 with the aim to expand European internal energy market, including countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Nowadays the EC includes the European Union (as individual member) and eight so-called partner countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine and Montenegro. Armenia, Georgia, Norway and Turkey have the observer status in the organization.
