MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – Leading companies of France and Portugal intend to sign contracts to buy Belarusian machines and woodworking industry products, representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in France told BelTA.
Representatives of eight leading French companies are in Minsk on a visit on 29 September – 2 October. The companies include Vinci, Accor, Leroy Merlin, Egis, and CIFAL. Top executives of the Portuguese major civil engineering company Mota-Engil are expected to visit Minsk one of these days.
According to the source, representatives of the French and Portuguese companies are expected to meet with Belarusian partners to discuss prospects of implementing joint projects in Belarus in the area of civil engineering, agriculture, power engineering, hotel business, and the development of retail chains. A number of contracts for the delivery of Belarusian machines and woodworking products to foreign markets will be signed.
Representatives of the foreign business circles are expected to hold negotiations with officials of the Belarus government, the Architecture and Construction Ministry, the Transport and Communications Ministry, the Energy Ministry, the food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, the forestry industry concern Bellesbumprom, the Minsk Oblast administration, and with Belarusian business partners. Ambassador of Belarus to France with concurrent accreditation to Portugal Pavel Latushko is accompanying the representatives of French and Portuguese business circles during their stay in Belarus.
As part of the visit a presentation of opportunities and sale terms of major French retail chains and other European retail chains will be arranged for Belarusian food industry companies.
