MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Each new decision in the CIS must rely on considerations of economic feasibility and financial payback, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during a meeting with the heads of the government delegations of the EEU and the CIS member states in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
“In Bishkek the heads of state gave governments a signal to seek new impetus for the CIS development, to make the CIS bodies more efficient. We should leave behind everything unnecessary and ineffective,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.
According to him, recently the CIS has been struggling with budget. One of the reasons is the lack of innovative ideas and outstanding results in the CIS interaction, Alexander Lukashenko believes. “Hence the decline in the interest to finance the CIS,” the head of state said.
Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that ambitious goals are needed: “We need common points of growth based on the principles of cooperation in industry, investment and science.”
