MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) –
The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft can be involved in the oil industry of Tatarstan, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on 18 October, BelTA has learned.According to the Belarusian leader, the cooperation of Belarus and Tatarstan in the oil and gas industry is very important. “I have a suggestion.
Belorusneft is a good company, but the output is falling. Some time ago oil was extracted and exported from Belarus. Therefore, we would like our company to be work with you. Trust me, it will be much cheaper to work with us than with other companies. Belarus can sign subcontracts or other contracts with you. Thanks to our good relations, I think that our company will benefit from this work, and that you will benefit from it too,” the President of Belarus said.In this context, Alexander Lukashenko remarked that
Belorusneft has a good experience of work in other countries. The head of state mentioned the cooperation with the company Tatneft which has opened a network of filling stations in Belarus. “We have a bigger potential. We can agree on the more active involvement of your company in the cooperation and implementation of projects in Belarus. This pertains to oil processing, sale of oil products, the work outside Belarus,” the President said. “I would like you to specify the interest of your company. The competition today is very high. I am afraid that there can be a certain misunderstanding. Someone might try to lobby the interests of someone else to the detriment of common sense and jyustice.”
“There are two oil refineries in Belarus. If you are eager to cooperate with these enterprises in the delivery of oil products to the external markets, we can agree on acceptable terms,” the Belarusian leader added.
Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, thanked for the assistance in the implementation of Tatneft’s projects in Belarus. “We are ready to build four modern filling stations,” he said. “Tatneft is working, delivering oil. But today we should be focused on advancing integration. Perhaps, there can be petrochemical projects.”
“We are interested in the development of the
petrochemical industry. Moreover, Tatneft produces tires. We get tire components from Belarus. We need deeper mutual integration here. We know that your oil-industry workers are excellent specialists and offer competitive prices for their services. We will give a corresponding instruction and will involve Belarusian colleagues in service maintenance,” the President of Tatarstan said.
