MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko promised that all investor ‘intimidation’ cases will be thoroughly investigated as he met with members of the general public, representatives of the Belarusian and foreign mass media on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
“If we receive information that an investor is intimidated by someone, those responsible will be punished severely. We use an absolutely different policy. If such things happen, tell me about this and we will investigate the situation, I have enough powers for this.”
Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus has enough measures in place to attract investments. “We just need knowledge, skills. And money,” the head of state added.
He said a few words about the negotiations with China to attract $700 million for small and medium-sized business. “I think we will reach an agreement, and a part of the sum will be allocated for specific projects (family business, etc.)” Alexander Lukashenko said.
He pointed out that business should benefit not only investors but also the state.
