MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – It is important to maintain strict operational discipline if we want to manufacture competitive goods, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said when talking with employees of Minsk Motor Plant on 6 May, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarusian producers are facing fierce competition. “To produce goods attractive in price and quality, we need strict discipline, the dictatorship of technologies and standards,” the President believes. “By going into new markets with new quality and new products, Belarus will be able to “pull out of the crisis situation in which we were plunged,” the head of state said. He added that “this is not our fault but our problem.”
The head of state stressed that discipline does not imply that someone needs to keep his mouth shut. “A person has the right to say whatever he thinks about politics, both domestic and foreign, at a trade union meeting or a general meeting which are held to have a frank conversation,” he noted. But on a shop floor there should be no politics. “Quality should be the only policy here,” the President stressed.
