MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) - It is important that Belarus and Russia should step up effort to develop a coherent industrial policy, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said when speaking at a plenary session of the 3rd Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“Removing barriers, developing the coherent industrial policy and common market are in our common interest. We should not compete with each other but pool resources to compete with foreign corporations within the State Union, and then go into competition with them in foreign markets. Believe me, we can do it,” the Belarusian President said.
Alexander Lukashenko considers that protective measures should be deployed on the external border of the Union State. This is the basis of the success of the union today and key to the future development.
The Belarusian President also believes: “Together, we need to develop the ideology of protecting and strengthening our integration union, which is considered the most advanced in the post-Soviet space, and not only there. This is because we have the experience of living in one state. Thank goodness, Russians and Belarusians have not really lost it.”
