Kochanova: Belarus is ready to supply Uzbekistan with products

MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to ensure steady supply of products which are in demand in the  market of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said at the plenary session of the First Belarus-Uzbekistan Women's Business Forum “Women in Business - Potential for Development of Business Cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan” in Minsk on 6 September, BelTA has learned.

Today there are all necessary conditions and opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan. They help the two countries to ensure growth of annual trade, development of industrial cooperation and increasing the share of innovations, the speaker said. “Belarus is ready to steadily supply products which are in demand in Uzbekistan’s market, including meat, dairy and other food products, products of woodworking and pharmaceutical industries, and offer a wide range of fabrics. Cooperation in the light industry could be an optimal area of interaction. We are able to increase supplies of cosmetics, furniture, ceramic tiles - those goods that are still insufficiently represented in Uzbekistan’s market,” the chairwoman of the Council of the Republic emphasized. “We see prospects in cooperation with Uzbekistan’s mining companies for the supply of our machinery. We positively assess the organization of joint production of footwear, dairy and pharmaceutical products, assembly plants of road-building and other equipment in Uzbekistan.”

“Our light industry enterprises are interested in attracting qualified personnel from the Republic of Uzbekistan, and we, in turn, are ready to respond to the needs of Uzbekistan’s labor market and promptly organize training for the innovative economy in a wide range of specialties,” Natalya Kochanova said.

“Cooperation in the services sector remains underestimated,” the speaker added. “We need to develop banking, construction, transportation services, geological exploration, IT sector. We are interested in interaction with Uzbekistan in culture and tourism. We are ready to build tourist routes to friendly countries, despite the distance. At the same time, we should understand that successful partnership between entrepreneurs of the two countries is impossible without sufficient knowledge of national legislation and its application practices. In this part there is a significant field for MPs’ activity. We need to ensure a thorough study of the regulatory legal framework of each country, exchange of interpretations and results of the law enforcement practice monitoring.”
